After a quick search around I couldn’t find anything that easily added a RS485 transceiver to the Teensy platform to allow it to send or receive DMX easily. I made this little PCB to do the job. It mounts on the bottom of the main board, allowing an ethernet board to be added to the top. In the picture there are a bunch of other wires soldered on to break out various IO lines for switches, UART and SPI for a display.
Because of the power of the Teensy 3.2 it is great to say make a simple ArtNet node, process DMX for addressable pixels or pixel tape, and any number of projects that need a little bit more processing. AND it is teensy tiny.
